Children in Worship at St. John's Lafayette

There once was a man who did and said such amazing things. One time, he told his friends, β€œLet the little children come to me.”

Children are always welcome and are encouraged to join their parents in worship at St. John's.  Activity bags and seasonal worship booklets are available to help children engage in the beautiful traditions of Anglican/Episcopal worship. While these resources may be helpful, nothing replaces a parent's guidance and example. Parents are encouraged to sing the hymns, pray, and voice the responses.  Children learn how to worship by example.

We also understand that our form of worship can be daunting and difficult at first (for children and adults alike).  If children make noise during worship or have trouble sitting still, remember, God put the wiggle in those children.

The way we welcome children in church directly affects the way they will respond to the Church, to one another, and more importantly to God.  We try to let them know they are always welcome here.
