Summer Worship Schedule
The St. John’s Rector Search Committee
Through the rest of the year, the committee will be collaborating to identify the best candidate to become our next rector. They will be responsible for the creation of the Parish Profile and submitting it to the diocese. They will review applications and do initial interviews until a small candidate pool is identified. These will be the finalists. All along the committee will be following the instructions of the diocese. Be sure to thank them for agreeing to be a part of this important work.
Search Committee News
Here is a graphic illustrating the search process.
The committee met on May 18 to continue discussion, and work on the parish profile. Many sections of the profile have been completed and others are quickly taking shape as committee members discuss, write, and update. We are using Google Docs as a way to collaboratively work on the profile. Members of the committee received instruction on the software called Canva, to put the profile into a final, published form. We feel we are on track to completion by the first week in June, which has been our target date since the beginning of this project. Completed copies will be delivered to the Vestry and the Diocese. Shortly after that, the profile will be used in our efforts to interview and hire a new Rector. The next search committee meeting is Wednesday, May 27.
Rector Search Committee Covenant
We acknowledge the need for and commit ourselves to prayerful discernment and faithful attendance. We understand the importance and commit to conversations that are confidential, collaborative and charitable. In handling disagreement, we will remain focused on the mission, engage in active listening and seek direct resolution. We will strive for a unified spirit in order to reach consensus.

About our Worship
We worship using the Book of Common Prayer, first published in 1549 and revised many times since to meet the needs of changing times and peoples.
However, our worship maintains an unbroken connection to the earliest forms of Christian worship. Throughout the centuries, people have found this way of worshiping God to be grounding and fulfilling. Many of us find that this ancient worship speaks to us still, since it is responsive both to age old questions and the new complexities of modern life.
And while our worship can seem complicated at first,
it is well worth the effort.
